You will be tracing how different civilizations began and how they developed over time – from the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, to the complex societies of present-day nations around the world. When you have finished this course, you will be able to understand key political, social, and economic events from the past and their connection to the present. It provides students with a practical understanding of law, legal systems and improves their understanding of the fundamental principles and values underlying the U.S. Constitution. Students will improve their critical thinking, communication, observation, and problem solving skills through participation in legal research, mock trials, class debates and advocating activities. Students will improve their critical thinking, communication, observation, and problem-solving skills through participation in legal research, mock trials, class debates and advocating activities. After completing this course students will be better informed to live in our law-saturated society.
